Judge it with your own eyes.
Photographs cannot settle a saffron decision. The comparison kit puts all five grades in front of you at once, each with the certificate for the lot it was drawn from.
What is in the box
- 2 g each of Kashmiri Mongra, Kashmiri Lacha, Iranian Super Negin, Iranian Negin and Iranian Sargol — in labelled glass vials
- The certificate for the lot each sample was drawn from, so you can check the measured figures against what you are holding
- A grading card showing thread form, length and the ISO 3632 category for each
- A 10× loupe so you can inspect the trumpet end yourself
How the cost works
The kit is charged at cost plus courier. On your first commercial order we credit the full kit charge back against the invoice — so if you go ahead, the samples were free.
Pravaha: set the kit price and connect a payment gateway to make this a live checkout. Until then the button raises a normal enquiry and your desk invoices manually.
Credited back in full against your first commercial order.
What to do when it arrives
Open all five vials on a white sheet of paper in daylight. Line the threads up side by side — the difference between Mongra and Lacha, and between Super Negin and Sargol, becomes obvious in about four seconds, which is roughly four seconds faster than any photograph will manage.
Then run the cold water test on each: a few threads in a glass of cold water, left for fifteen minutes. You are watching for a slow golden-yellow bloom. Anything that bleeds red immediately is dyed, and nothing in this box will do that.
Finally, read each certificate against the sample in front of you. That habit — comparing the paperwork to the product — is the single most useful thing a saffron buyer can learn, and it applies to every supplier you deal with, including us.
Sample first. Decide after.
Tell us the grade and volume you are working to and we will send an indicative offer, the specification sheet, and a sample dispatch window — normally within one working day.
